E2E RF SERVICES

Site Acquisition, Environment and Design (SAED) services

SAED in Australia is becoming an increasingly challenging activity, which operators identify as a high capex risk with length delivery time frames. Active Works demonstrates fluidity in our designs through understanding multi-RAN vendor networks, industry regulations and operator requirements; providing a higher first-time right success rate.

We achieve this by:

  • Reviewing scope objectives to verify what is required
  • Auditing data integrity of surrounding sites for coverage accuracy
  • Running coverage simulation plots with suitable azimuths to  determine effectiveness of potential candidates
  • Providing RF scoring through our matrix to determine suitability of potential candidates in meeting the RF objectives

rf planning services

RF HIGH LEVEL NETWORK PLANNING & SIMULATION

We specialise in RF planning & simulation services to conceive a wholistic solution to meet coverage and capacity objectives. Our RF designs can be tailed to meet your requirements whether for a single or multiple sites. RF solutions are designed to comply with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.

We streamline the process by:

  • Reviewing scope objectives to verify what is required
  • Auditing data integrity of surrounding sites for coverage accuracy
  • Running coverage simulation plots with suitable azimuths to determine effectiveness of potential candidates
  • Providing RF scoring through our matrix to determine suitability of potential candidates in meeting the RF objectives

rf design services

RF SITE DESIGN

We design a diverse range of carrier agnostic RF solutions for macro, small cells, IBC DAS, IBC repeaters and Cow systems.

Active Works has extensive experience working with commercial, town planning and civil requirements to overcome any challenges and deliver the best outcome for mobile networks.

We accomplish this through:

  • Conducting site visits to capture; target, optimal, step-back solutions, EME & Los clutter POIs, community sensitivity risks and internal/external audits
  • Selection of RAN equipment, passive and active RF equipment and associated ancillaries based on carrier approved components list
  • Detailed RF plumbing design and link budget analysis
  • Low level interconnection plumbing analysis
  • BTS configuration layout
  • BOM preparation and RF licences

eme compliance

ARPANSA RPS3 REQUIREMENTS

As we enter into the 5G era we are still obligated to meet ARPANSA RPS3 standards. The technological improvements in Massive MIMO and beam-forming has caused additional challenges when meeting EME compliance. Understanding the limitations, antenna pattern, power capability and antenna locations is critical. We have the experience and expertise to perform radio network site EME assessments for EME compliance as per the latest AMTA Base Station Design guidelines and ARPANSA RSP3 regulatory guidelines.

We conduct:

  • STAD creations and updates
  • RFMAP2 Environmental EME Reports
  • Capture of POIs in 3D space
  • Form A/B
  • EME PRDs and reviews

performance & acceptance

INTEGRATION & OPTIMISATION

After the antenna plumbing system is fully connected, our process for integration, initial tuning and optimization ensures that sites are activated right the first time and fault-free from issues related to radio planning, hardware and workmanship. Unresolved problems in under performing sites will lead to poor customer experiences in slow data throughput speed, dropped calls, poor reception and increases the overall stress loading onto neighboring sites. This will in turn impact the performance of those sites. Active Works has the experience, knowledge and methodology to deliver optimal performing radio sites within your client’s mobile network.

We assure quality through:

  • Correct loading of radio network parameters via script preparation
  • Site integrations and RIC support
  • Network statistics performance monitoring, KPI benchmarking and post-build optimisation
  • Strong investigative visualisation analytics to address CS/PC traffic balancing, MIMO ranking, swapped sectors, parameter audits, 3G power and 4G PRB utilisation, shoehorning of new sites/technologies, low/high RTWP/RSSI and external interference
  • Providing drive test service for detailed investigations and generating drive testing reports
  • Site acceptance report generation as per customer requirements
  • Proposal & delivery of new technologies, carrier rollout projects, parameter changes to augment network capacity requirements
  • High level audits for project deliverables, regular meetings with customers/other stake holders for smooth project execution

telecommunications rigging services

Active works has teams of qualified telecommunications riggers to support our customers and field technicians. Telecommunications rigging is a dangerous, highly specialised area and having experience well trained rigging group separates Active works from other companies. Delivering a high-quality rigging function is critical to our projects, minimising errors in roll outs and ensuring the antennas and feeder systems are installed to a high standard means costs in returning to site are minimised.

Our in-house rigging group are experienced with civil construction and tower erection, installation and testing of feeder systems, LTE Hybrid, Coax Cable, Wave Guide, earthing principles, panel antennas to 3.7m microwave dish installation and associated mounting hardware.

All rigging staff maintain the following certifications as minimum

  • Basic Rigging & OHS
  • Working at Height and Tower Rescue
  • First Aid Certificate
  • 4WD and Remote Site Survival Training
  • Andrew Connector and Feeder Certification

We also take our riggers through basic technical installation training, so they get an opportunity to expand their skills into other areas. Active works has all the plant and equipment required to complete telecommunications rigging activities safely

and efficiently. Our telecommunications rigging group are ready to work, for more information please contact us.
